BIRMINGHAM, 24 August 2026 — A 23-year-old man was shot in the leg after disorder at a popular Birmingham nightclub spilled onto surrounding streets, according to police.
West Midlands Police were called to Luna Springs in Digbeth shortly before 11.20pm on Sunday, 23 August, following reports of trouble at the venue. The disturbance is believed to have started inside the nightclub before continuing outside.
Police said a firearm was discharged in the area around Hack Street and Bromley Street. A 23-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his leg and was taken to hospital for treatment. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.
Two other men were also arrested as officers investigated the circumstances surrounding the violence. A 30-year-old man was detained on suspicion of violent disorder and possession of a knife, while a 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.
The latest incident comes just months after violence at the same Digbeth venue. In May, two men were injured in a stabbing at Luna Springs. West Midlands Police later launched a public appeal for photographs and video footage as part of that investigation.
Police are continuing their investigation into Sunday night's disorder, including reviewing available footage and seeking information from people who witnessed what happened.
