Desh Foundation UK is preparing to celebrate the achievements of British Bangladeshi entrepreneurs, business leaders and professionals at the fourth Big 3B British Bangladeshi Business Awards, scheduled to take place on Sunday, 25 October 2026, at Bingley Hall in Birmingham.

The prestigious event will recognise outstanding achievements across 33 categories, highlighting the contribution of British Bangladeshis to the UK economy, business development and community life. According to information provided by the organisers, more than 100 nominees have submitted applications across different business categories, with 33 award categories set to recognise outstanding achievement.

The upcoming ceremony marks the return of the awards following the COVID-19 pandemic and continues an initiative established to celebrate success, encourage entrepreneurship and provide greater recognition for the British Bangladeshi community.

Ahead of the event, Desh Foundation UK organised a press conference at Kutumbari Restaurant in Small Heath, Birmingham, on Sunday, 11 October. The organisers outlined details of the forthcoming ceremony, the award categories and the wider objectives behind the initiative.

The press conference provided an opportunity to brief journalists and community representatives about the preparations for the awards and the importance of recognising the achievements of British Bangladeshi businesses and professionals.

A vision launched in 2015:

Desh Foundation UK launched the British Bangladeshi Business Awards in 2015 with an ambitious vision: to recognise the achievements of British Bangladeshis, celebrate entrepreneurial excellence and create a platform where business success could receive wider public recognition.

The inaugural ceremony attracted considerable attention, with then British Prime Minister David Cameron attending as the chief guest. His presence brought national visibility to the event and highlighted the contribution of the British Bangladeshi community to British society and the economy.

The awards continued in 2017 and 2019, establishing a platform for celebrating entrepreneurs, business owners, professionals and community figures whose work has made a difference in their respective fields.

The 2017 ceremony attracted more than 800 guests, including political representatives, diplomats, business leaders and community figures, demonstrating the growing significance of the awards within the British Bangladeshi community.

Following the 2019 ceremony, the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent disruption interrupted the awards programme. The 2026 event therefore represents an important milestone in the organisation’s efforts to revive the initiative and bring the business community together once again.

After a seven-year gap, the fourth edition is expected to renew interest in British Bangladeshi enterprise and showcase the diversity of businesses developed by people with Bangladeshi heritage across the United Kingdom.
